Pepsi was first introduced as Brad’s Drink in 1885, but it changed to Pepsi-Cola when Caleb Bradham made his way through a drugstore with an aluminum bottle of soft drinks. The change happened after he dropped the word ‘cola’ from all copies and used peppy perRus which has become one if America’s favourite beverages today!
In 1903, Pepsi was sold as syrup. Have you seen the science experiment where they extract all of the liquid from a cola product? A year later, in 1904-1905, there were 6-ounce bottles available for purchase! In 1931, Charles G Guth (1876 – 1948), founder/owner of modern-day Pepsi-Cola, made his buyout with assets including this brand and the company’s founding principles, which helped shape ours today too
1936-1939, lost most of her shares in Pepsi-Cola to the new company. When Pepsi-Cola merged with Loft in 1941, the name Loft, Inc. was changed to Pepsi-Cola Company.
Automobile racer Barney Oldfield was the first celebrity to endorse this product, and sales started to soar.
