Roommates, the social media streets are saying Halle Bailey has a hit with her latest music video release for, ‘Braveface.’ Reviews are pouring in after she released the three-minute video, which shows her undressing her glam outer appearance while singing about not letting her flaws drown her. It’s giving anthem energy for any girlies going through it, and follows several weeks of the internet discussing her custody battle with her former boyfriend, DDG.

Halle Bailey Brings Her Raw Lyrics To Life With THESE Visuals
Bailey blessed her fans by releasing the video the same day the song dropped. As mentioned, the visuals open with shots of Halle in a gold fringe dress, partially covering her hair and heels. A few seconds into the first few bombshell lyrics, she begins shedding layers of her ‘fit, and letting her hair down.
“Sittin’ on the floor, curled up in a ball. Lookin’ in the mirror and I feel so f**kin’ small,” Halle opens the song with, before adding, “Self-esteem is on the ground.”
Her pre-chorus talked about covering up how she feels about continuing to push through. “I been so tired. Even though I feel this way. I gotta do what the girls do best. Cover up the pain,” Bailey sings. Then comes another layer: the chorus, which is a step-by-step explanation of how to put on her “braveface.”
“Tell myself, ‘You’re more than enough.’ And f**k my flaws, no, I’ll be strong. That’s how I put my braveface on.”
Other lyrics also stood out in verse two, including Bailey admitting to “fake cheesing” as red carpet cameras snap in her direction. “Got my hair and my heart out, got my lipstick and my guard up. Pretty good f**king actress, I know how to play my part up,” Bailey sings. To close the emotional ballad, Halle Bailey sang, “I just wanna feel good.”
Meanwhile, the music video flashes between scenes of other people and angles of Halle singing. By the end, Halle is seen only wearing undergarments.
Fans Sound Off About Halle’s New Drop
Over 16,000 roommates weighed in on the lyrics and visuals in The Shade Room’s comment section. Many applauded her for taking to the booth with her alleged insecurities. But, with questions still swirling about her mental health between 2022 and 2025, other comments were leaning in her ex-boyfriend’s favor. The two are tangled in a custody battle concerning their son, Halo. We’ll get into THOSE details later, but for now, keep reading to see thoughts on the music video for ‘Braveface.’
IG roommate @lexijonesmua wrote, “ATE! Now this is how you respond to negativity! let your art speak for itself!”
@mzskittlez added, “I love this song, considering this year has been kicking my entrepreneurial a*s! Shout out to all entrepreneurs putting their brave face on this song is for u! 👏👏👏👏👏”
“Every mom deserves to be loved properly before and after baby is here,” @ask_janira commented.
@madein_ajaa offered her support, writing, “I actually like it. People that go through stuff and are talented put they testimony in music. We don’t know what went on behind closed doors with her and that man. Y’all gotta learn to be graceful, give people grace that y’all be wanting people to extend to y’all. Keep going Halle. We love you!!”
“Hope this is the first step of getting her power back. Connecting with the wrong person can cost you sooo much! I been there….ROOTING for you Halle,” @mariamossadams said.
On the flip side, @be_youtifulme30 added, “I truly believe in giving women grace during postpartum—but we also need to stop weaponizing it as a shield from accountability. This situation is deeper than a song or a role she once played. The man’s experience matters too. Just because someone looks innocent doesn’t mean they are. Let’s not ignore the full picture just because it’s wrapped in PR glitter.”
@slimstyles3_ wrote, “Kmt!!! Girl byeee and go work on your mental health!”
As stated earlier this month, DDG filed a restraining order against Halle Bailey and a petition to block her from internationally traveling with their son, Halo. She had previously won a TRO order, but the streamer clapped back on the same day Halle’s order expired. A judge ultimately allowed Bailey to move forward with travel plans to Italy for a gig, but she was barred from engaging in any emotional or physical abuse against DDG.
