Say ‘ciao bella’ to ‘Simpatico’ — a sizzling slice of synth-laden pop, inspired by the Spanish/Italian word for ‘charming’.
Co-written by the boys along with Jules Konieczny (who also serves as producer), the fun, carefree track arrives hot on the heels of the groups previous release ‘Wardrobe’, and serves as another example of their undeniable knack for creating killer pop hooks!
Filled with copious amounts of swagger, cheeky one-liners, and playful sass, from the moment that opening sultry guitar riff kicks in, you just know you’re in for a wild ride through rhythm, and romance, guided by 5 of the coolest guys in pop.
Commenting on the seriously addictive track, band member Conor says: “A few of us have been on the Duolingo grind recently and it’s been fun learning new words and their meanings… we often go into a writing session with a word or phrase or concept that we want to build something around. It was hot and sunny and ‘simpatico’ is a Spanish/Italian word that means charming or nice and it had a cool summer vibe to it that we wanted to explore.”

Since their formation in 2023, Absnt Mind – made up of Alex Benson, Ashton Henry-Reid, Conor Marcus, Fred Meyer, and Oscar Williams – have attracted the attention of some of music’s biggest tastemakers, with critics and bloggers praising the boys for their fresh approach in creating innovative pop bops that push the boundaries of contemporary music.
